I view America’s hopes and dreams as many have… Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free. And “I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character”. For generations immigrants integrated and prospered in the great melting pot of America. Civil war very nearly destroyed America but in the end it was progress.
Each generation should be better off than their parents. It used to work that way but today, indeed, the rich get richer, and the poor get poorer. I fear as large corporations grow omnipotence income equality will never be reversed and personal liberty will erode. I dream of an America progressing, certainly suffering great battles, so racial and economic inequality is just a blip in a long and unbelievable story of the greatest country ever. The greatest dream has been realized; a government of the people, for the people and by the people. Let us make it work.
